May 27, 2020 See all Blog Posts This morning I had my first appointment with Dr. Legel, and he was exactly the type of doctor I was hoping for. He was direct, patient, thorough, and very matter-of-fact with the examination process and all of the explanations he gave. Basically, bedside manner and knowledge were both topnotch. His schedule was pretty booked up, so I had to get in touch every few days to check for cancellations to try and get in to see him sooner. Even though I had to wait a while to see him, it was totally and completely worth it. Meeting with Dr. Legel has been the best decision I have made for treatment so far. Dr. Legel is very thorough, tells you things in a way that are simple to understand and what to do better. My foot issues have improved dramatically after suffering for 10+ years. He never makes you feel rushed either with your concerns which is something that I appreciate. Bryce Kolodziej 15:17 17 Dec 19 I have been having pain in my right ankle for about 6 to 7 years now and I been to a lot of Dr and the could not figure out what was wrong with me and I wet to advance foot &ankle and he showed my xray and told me that I had spers in my foot that didn't let me move my foot up and down and all the dr I have been to said that I was fine just to rest it but now I know what is wrong and the staff was a amassing John Cervantez 02:27 20 Nov 19 WONDERFUL!!!! Dr Legel saved my husband!!!! We live in a small Northeast Texas area . Long story short (kinda), my husband was supposed to have hammer toe correction. The recovery time was supposed to last 3-4 weeks. TRY 4 MONTHS!!!!!!! The local doctor keep my husband in a cast for two weeks. He was in SOOOOOO MUCH PAIN!! OMG!! The doctor said he wasn't supposed to be in much pain after the surgery. He was in constant PAIN!! After he took his cast off, his toes looked horrible!! The second toe had a pin in it, and he had the hardest time taking it out. We left there and my husband was still in excruciating pain almost daily. I would call the nurse and she said, " I don't know why he's pain. I'll call out for more medicine." They didn't want to give anymore due to people abuse prescriptions. After removing the cast, the doctor said he didn't know what was going on because his skin was peeling off of it!! Freaked us out!!! He said it could be due to his foot fungus. After the 3rd week, my husband was so much pain that I called the doctor to come back in before a the weekend. He toe was turning black, and the doctor said, " It doesn't look like gangrene and it didn't look infected." OMG! I was thinking. Something is wrong!! His skin is peeling off and his toe was turning black. I was crying every night scared of the uncertainty of my husbands foot. I couldn't bare him being in pain anymore. His toes were starting to scare me, and I was afraid infection was spreading. My husband is only 35 and this was going out of control! We left the doctor for lunch and I Googled the best foot doctors in Dallas, Texas. Dallas is about 2.5 hours away from where we live. Dr. Legel's name was one of the top 5. I liked his picture and read the reviews. :-) I called Thursday, and the nice guy on the phone (I forgot his name) said we don't usually take new patients on Friday after noon, but you seem like you need help. I started crying. I was so grateful!!! And began THANK GOD!!! OMG!!! They were WONDERFUL!! From the sweet ladies that bandaged my husband, the two guy receptionist and MOST OF ALL, J!!! Jay IS WWWOOONNNDDEERRRFFFUULLL!! and DR. LEGEL IS AAAAMMMAAAZZZIIINNNNGGGGGG!!!!!!!! He ordered so many test that weren't performed on my husband before or after my husbands surgery. After looking at my husband's foot, Dr. Legel said, " There is nothing normal about your foot, and if I was your doctor I wouldn't have sent you home." He didn't bash our doctor, but he was HONEST and very PROFESSIONAL from the beginning. He said, " I'm a realist and I'll do whatever I can to save your toe . But looking at it you might lose it." Well my husband lost his toe and was okay with it. He had been in so much pain. He had a bone infection and his circulation was low in his foot. Dr. Legel and his team took care of my husband. I was so scared and GOD blessed us with a WONDERFUL DOCTOR and AWESOME STAFF!! J. made sure my husband's medication overnight-ed, and he set up home healthcare to take care of his wounds. He would call often to check on him. I would recommend DR. LEGEL to ANYONE!!! ANYWHERE!!! Thank you Dr. LEGEL and STAFF for EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!We were blessed to have met you and your staff!!
